Bambusa multiplex Tiny Fern is a dwarf form of 'Riviereorum' with leaves often less than 1" long. The culms have numerous branches at a node with one or two usually much larger than the rest with 10 to 20 closely spaced two ranked leaves. In its native areas shoots usually occur in late summer or fall. It is considered a tropical or sub-tropical bamboo and is grown here in Virginia as a die back perennial (100% winter top kill).
