Quality of bamboo culm wood

All bamboo culm wood shares similar characteristics; however, depending on the end use, some are better choices than others.

Small diameter bamboos are rated Too small simply because of their small diameter.

Bamboo for pole production should be rated Good or Excellent and selected based on the finished size needed.

Bamboo culms to be split and used as strips should be thick walledl and have an Excellent rating.

Thin wall bamboo culms are ideal for certain applications and should be selected if that is what is needed.
